WEDDING SPECIALS ANYONE

Yes everyone the time for weddings is a upon us.

"Here comes the brides......" Looking for a makeup artist can be quite stressful.

Here are some tips you are able to look for when looking for a makeup artist for your special day:
  • Research, research, research
  • I am quite sure, even as soon-to-be-brides, you have being to a best friend's, family, or co-worker's wedding. The first thing you notice is her makeup, if you like the makeup do not hesitate to ask them for the makeup artist's information.
  • Make a list of makeup artists that have caught your attention.
  •  Email the makeup artist. I say email, because it creates a better paper trail of the conversations and a good reference or go-to in order to make sure all parties are within the same mind frame.
    • To make things easier and smoother it is also best to be better prepared and to give as much information the makeup artist will need to better serve your needs:
      • Provide the date of wedding
      • Time of wedding
      • How many people will be part of your bridal wedding party
      • What kind of services you are interested in having done. Whether it be hair and makeup, just makeup, touchups, etc.
  •  Now it is time to book trials. When you book trials also come prepared with reference guides as to the kind of makeup looks you will be looking for. What I mean by reference guides: magazines, fabric swatches of bridesmaids dresses or your wedding dress, and so on.
  • During the trial, ask the makeup artist to show you a sample of their work or their own reference pictures that they might have. I, for one, always carry my portfolio. A makeup artist must always be prepared for the unexpected.
  • Now to the down and dirty. At the trial it is important to pay attention to essential things, like hygiene. I always get told by clients, models, even photographers of how clean my makeup kit looks. It makes me realize that people do notice little details regardless of how minor they may be. This is an important aspect to you, soon-to be-brides, because your health is the most important thing. With your wedding day around the corner I am quite sure you want no mishaps to deter your happy occasion. If you notice the makeup artist not sanitizing or washing their hands, do not be afraid to say something, especially if you have sensitive skin. Do not be afraid to speak up and tell what you want as far as:lipstick colour, blush, eyeshadow colour, and so on. This is your wedding day, this is your special day and you deserve to be pampered.
