PROMINENT ETHNIC MODELS SERIES: DU JUAN (VOGUE CHINA)

The prominent ethnic model of the New Year 2012 will be featuring one of my all time favourite models: Du Juan. What beauty, what elegance. She is one of the most prominent chinese models of her time.

You can not be surprised that Du Juan wanted to pursue a career in classical ballet but due to her height she was unable to accomplish her dreams. As a runner up in the Ford Super Model of the World, she made her debute walking the runways of : Valentino, Jean Claude-Gaultier, Roberto Cavalli, Chanel, and much more.
In 2005, Du Juan became the first asian model to grace the cover of Vogue Paris. This move opened up many doors for her. She became the it-girl for campaigns with Louis Vuitton, Roberto Cavalli, United Colors of Benetton, and Yves St. Laurent. In 2006, Style.com (which is the online home for Vogue and W) proclaimed her the top 10 models to watch. This is a great honour. Since the launch of Vogue China, Du Juan has continued to grace the magazine covers. She has also become the main fixture in the magazine. You can not turn a page without seeing her beautiful face.

(The first picture warms my heart. The creativity is so endless and serene. I love it.)

It does not stop there, through the seasons, Du Juan has also appeared in campaigns and editorials in the likes of Patene, Esprit, Giorgio Armani, Anna Sui, David Yurman, Uniqlo, Allure, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, i-D, AND Vogue.

Du Juan has recently appeared in the Vogue China first issue of the year for 2012.
