HAIR TIP FOR THE DAY: HAIR SHEDDING?

Ok, ok I do not profess to be a hair guru but I know a thing or two.

As well being in this business you can not help but be around people that know what the hell they are talking about. For this segment, I will use myself as an example. Before I went into the trend of becoming natural and even after, I noticed sometimes when I ran my hands through my hair I ended up getting some bits of my hair in my palms. To be quite honest, this freaked me out.

To help combat this effect, I started doing garlic treatment or garlic deep condition. I try to do this process every two or every three weeks.

For my personal preference, I actually like doing this process before I wash my hair. If you prefer to do this step after your hair is washed that is your prerogative.

To get started:
  • Get mixing bowl
  • Add cholesterol hair conditioning cream, argan oil leave-in conditioner, EVOO (extra virgin olive oil), and garlic powder. Then mix all ingredients together.
  • I section my hair in four parts. I use a spray bottle filled with water to moisten each section. Before I moisten the next section, I apply the mixture. You continue this process until each section is covered with the mixture.
  • I use a comb to brush the mixture through my hair to make sure every part of my hair is covered.
  • Then I put on a shower cap. I also place at least two towels on top to create heat in order for the mixture to do its magic. But instead of using the towels, if you happen to own a portable salon hair dryer and have the patience to sit under those things, then be my guest.
  • Leave in for 30 minutes (There are times I have been lazy where I left the mixture over night).
  • Then I do a co-wash (short for conditioner wash). I do not wash my hair with shampoo. I notice when I shampoo my hair, my hair feels dry and brittle. I start to feel all that work I did was a waste of time. I notice when I do a co-wash, my hair feels softer, moist, healthier, easy to comb through, AND get this, barely any shedding.
Leave your comments and let me know how this process works for you.
