Before I came to the conclusion that designers are becoming complacent with the way of their designs and their vision. Basically playing the safe card, it is finally nice to know there are still designers out there taking risks and bringing the WOW to the WOW.
During Paris 2012 Spring Fashion week, Stephane Rolland brought back my respect to his work. He ended his show with a haute couture red silk dress, get this people, which weighed 110 pounds with a 14.7 foot train. The train by itself creates a statement of it's own. The dress was worn by the beautiful Yasmin Le Bon. It is the real deal when two male models (very eye catching male models by the way) accompany Yasmin down the runway in order to ensure she does not fall. If I wore a dress that weighed 110 pounds, I already know my behind will be sitting down with a champagne in my hand smiling and waving at everybody. LOL. OMG, did I mention Yasmin was wearing six to seven inch heels. What professionalism. She must have had to work out a lot just so she would be able to properly represent the dress. I am in such awe.
I do not want to completely neglect the rest of the collection. I honestly can say I would wear everything. The collection has a touch of modern yet extra terrestrial feel. I love it.
