PROMINENT ETHNIC MODELS SERIES: ARLENIS SOSA

The Dominican beauty we all know as Arlenis Sosa.
Is who I will be acknowledging for the prominent ethnic model series. There are not a lot of “black” models properly represented in the fashion industry today. As a matter-of-fact, it looks like the fashion industry, before the world renowned Vogue Italia-Black models invaded the magazine shelves, are going back to their old ways of not hiring black models for their campaigns and their runway shows. I can honesty count on one hand how many “black” models I saw on the runways or magazine stands this 2011-2012 season. Arlenis Sosa is signed with Marilyn Models. Can you believe two weeks after she was signed she books two editorials with Vogue and Vogue Italia. Really!! What a dream for any newcomer. With the world wide acclaim of Vogue Italia, Arlensis became featured in other magazines like: ELLE, INTERVIEW, and i-D. She has walked the runways for the likes of Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, John Galliano, Emanuel Ungaro, Hussein Chalayan, Alexander Wang, Jean Paul Gaultier, Hermes, Bottega Veneta, Anna Sui, Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan, Tsumori Chisato, Jason Wu, Carlos Miele, Derek Lam, Isaac Mizrahi, Matthew Williamson, Narciso Rodriguez, and much more. On September 2008, Arlenis became the face of Lancome. Can you believe the mile stone she crossed? Before Arlenis, Lancome never used “black” models for their campaigns. Following her work, she is a beautiful lady inside and outside with a great heart. She is fun and full of life. She deserves the blessings she has accomplished. I foresee she will be bestowed with more blessings.
