I can not say where our sense of style over the decades will have being without these lovely ladies and gentleman:
69 BC - 30 BC:
Cleopatra VII, the last queen (pharaoh) of Egypt. There are those that will argue that she was a great beauty. Cleopatra exemplified passion, femininity, power, and intelligence. She over came in the land of men, and took the destiny of Egypt by the balls so to speak. Yes, there were others who shaped Egypt, but I am quite sure when one speaks of the history of Egypt the first name that comes to mind is Cleopatra. Get with the program.
1500-1603:
The first queen of England, Elizabeth I (also known as “The Virgin Queen”). Some call her the bastard child of King Henry the VIII and others call her the beloved mother of Great Britain. Quite frankly, without her foresight, England would not have being the power house it became over the years. Many did not know Queen Elizabeth I had her demons. Through some years of sickness she was losing her hair. With the lose of hair she had to offset her short comings by creating head dresses which quickly took a strong hold among her female courtesans. Elizabeth became the beacon of fashion and a power to behold.
1950’s to 1980’s:(in no select order)
Audrey Hepburn- NEED I SAY MORE
Marilyn Monroe:The blond bombshell
Pam Grier:
Elizabeth Taylor:
You can not think of Elizabeth Taylor with thinking of her in “Cleopatra”. Cleopatra was an epic movie that brought Elizabeth Taylor the recognition she deserved. Another favorite movie of mine with Elizabeth Taylor, is “The Cat on the Tin Roof”. Gosh…I love that movie, ” Alot of mendacity in the air”.
Jackie O:
This can not be about Fashion icons without “THE” Jackie O. Give a hand of applause ladies and gentleman. So regal and so beautiful.
Madonna: Regardless of what ever era, we all love Madonna.
Then:
Now:
Last but not least; Michael Jackson:
